Bedfordshire County Golf

County Card Scheme from 1st April 2017

The Bedfordshire County Card Scheme enables members of Affiliated Clubs to play at most other courses in England, at members guest rates. It is now included as part of the affiliation fee at no extra cost to both male and female members whose Club is Affiliated to the County Golf Union or the Bedfordshire Ladies County Golf Association from 1st April 2017. Clearly, however, not every member will want to play at other County Card Clubs, so cards will only be issued to those eligible members who request one from their Home Club.

The new 'credit card' style cards were initially valid from 1st April 2016 to 31st March 2017. They will be validated in future years by the application of a sticker, so should be retained for re-use please.

The Counties in the scheme from 1st April 2017 now comprises Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Cheshire, Cornwall, Cumbria, Derbyshire, Devon, Dorset, Durham, Essex, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Herefordshire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Lancashire, Leicestershire & Rutland, Lincolnshire, Middlesex, Northamptonshire, Northumberland, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Somerset, Staffordshire, Surrey, Sussex, Warwickshire, Wiltshire, Worcestershire and Yorkshire.

In addition Bedfordshire has an agreement with Norfolk which most other Counties do not.

Not every Club in the Counties have agreed to be part of the scheme, and a spreadsheet with a full list of all participating Clubs, arranged by County is available by clicking HERE, but you must contact the Club you plan to visit in advance by telephone before traveling to ensure availability and the terms on offer.

See full terms below.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

County Card Members may play at least once at any of the Host Clubs on the list (some Host Clubs may allow more than one visit).

Bookings must be made in advance with the Host Club and restrictions on time and day of the week may apply. In general, bookings will not be accepted for weekends or Bank Holidays. County Card Members must have current handicaps and must agree to be bound by the rules of the Club being visited. The County Card may only be used for groups of up to 4 players and may not be used in connection with larger groups or societies.

Host Clubs

The minimum commitment required is to accept, if asked, a booking of one four-ball group per week on a day or time determined by the Club. The green fee to be charged is entirely at the discretion of the host Club. Typically, the green fee will be 50% of the visitor rate, or the same as the 'guest' green fee.

Clubs may sign-up to this scheme for a minimum period of one year, which will be renewed automatically unless the Club decides to opt out of the scheme.
