PAUL FLETCHER MEMORIAL TROPHY 2024
The Paul Fletcher Trophy was resurrected last year having not been played since 2018. Over the years we have raised in excess of £10,000 pounds for the Sue Ryder Charity, at Moggerhanger.
Paul played County comps from the mid 1960s in the Boys championships. He was in the county team in the 1970 as Captain in 1983-85 and 88-89, assistant treasurer 1989-95, match secretary 1986-95 and scratch match secretary 1997-2001 before retiring due to ill health. Following Paul's death in 2004, Tim Sparrow of Beds and County donated a trophy to be played for in memory of Paul.
This year's competition will be an individual strokeplay competition for single figure golfers. The original team format may return in future.
The format will be individual medal scratch competition, as we have a limited number of tee times, it will be limited to single figure, (up to 9.4 h/cap) golfers, in the event of too many entries the highest handicaps will have to be balloted out. Currently the tee times are 1.00 - 2.30, sandwiches on completion of round. Cost £20.00, the entry monies minus costs, to go to charity.
(95% handicap allowance)
