County Matchplay Rules

RULES OF THE COMPETITION

Qualifying Players with the best 16 scores at the County Championship are eligible, ties for 16th place will be decided on countback over the last 18, 9, 6, 3 or final round of the Championship.

Format
Each round shall be 18 Hole Scratch Matchplay with sudden death in the event of any match finishing all square after 18 holes. The player at the top of the 1st round will have home advantage (which may be changed if the players agree). Home advantage in the quarter finals go to the winners of matches 2, 3, 5 and 8, which again may be changed if both players agree. Players are responsible for contacting each other and arranging their matches.

The semi-finals and final will be played at John O'Gaunt Golf Club on Sunday 16th October.

The winner of each round MUST inform the County Competitions Secretary as soon as possible of the result.
