Bedfordshire Golf Club juniors retain Tavistock Trophy

Bedfordshire Golf Club's junior team retained their Tavistock Trophy title from South Beds and The Millbrook as they battled strong winds in the Final on their home course.

Although Captain James Stocks struggled to find his best form, Dillon Basi eagled the 17th hole on his way to the leading gross round of 73, while fellow County first team player Vikram Singh carded 77.

Lara Gauntlett added a net 72 and with Caleb Widger already in the clubhouse with a 73, Oliver Elphick confirmed the team success with a round of net 68 in the final grouping.

Adam Khan and Archie Wooliscroft carded gross scores of 76 and 81 to keep South Beds, who won the Bedfordshire InterClub title earlier in the season, within touching distance.

Isaac Khan added a net 68, but they couldn't close the gap, as they finished seven point adrift in second place.

Despite being without their lowest two handicappers, Harry Lake and Connor Tallentire, The Millbrook fought hard to stay in contention and had the consolation of compiling the best individual round as Oliver Clark compiled an excellent net 67.
