Ixie Akpan is crowned Bedfordshire Girls Champion

Ixie Akpan (John O'Gaunt) was crowned Bedfordshire Girls Champion after completing the course at Pavenham Park GC in one-over-par gross.

After taking a little time to get used to the sloping greens, Akpan covered her last 13 holes in two under par to finish well clear of the field.

Amelia Klausner (South Beds) produced an equally impressive performance to claim the net prize as a brilliant round of net 66 gave her a five shot cushion over her closest rivals.
