U14 Season begins at Crews Hill GC

The County U14 Team travelled to Crews Hill GC on Sunday 16th May for the opening match of the season against Middlesex and Norfolk.

An hour before the start of play we were treated to a deluge which left a lot of standing water on the course but the young players were undeterred and we started on time. The weather remained threatening and very cold all afternoon but we were lucky enough to avoid any further significant rain.

We had a number of debutants in the team, all of whom performed very well. Overall we had a good day despite struggling a little against what appears to be a very strong Middlesex team. Getting a win (4.5-3.5) against Norfolk was encouraging and we will learn from our defeat (6-2) against Middlesex and push them harder next time.

Congratulations to our team which comprised: Vikram Singh, James Stocks, Dillon Basi, William Mowe, Henry Wooster. Louis Fitzgerald, Matthew Arden and Kian Duffield.

The next match is on 27th June at Wensum Valley GC, Norfolk.
