The 2021 season began for the Bedfordshire U16 Boys' Team with a triangular match against Middlesex and Hertfordshire in the South East Group U16 League.
With three lads in the team who also qualify to play in the U14s, we had selected a "young" team of promising talent to represent the county at the first and possibly most important league match - it is always good to get off to a winning start.
This was an excellent team performance but it is worth mentioning that four of our players (half of the team!) won both their matches which is very encouraging and overall we came away having beaten Middlesex 6-2 and having earned a creditable draw with Hertfordshire 4-4. Bedfordshire is now sitting at the top of the league - albeit after only one match having been played so far.
Boys' U16 Team at Pinner Hill GC - James Stocks, Dillon Basi, Vikram Singh, Owyn Pepper-Thompson, Connor Tallentire, Robbie Simpson, Harley Allan and Harry Lake.
The management team has high expectations for this group, both immediately and also for the longer term. The evidence gained on the day has only served to heighten those expectations. Well done to all of the players for having shown exceptional commitment and we now have much to look forward to.
